I’m in my mid-30s and had honestly accepted that I would never drive. I’d tried countless instructors since I was 18, and one even told me I shouldn’t drive because of how anxious I was. Then I found Kirsten.
When I started with her, I couldn’t even make it through a roundabout without panicking. Now I can navigate traffic without crying (a genuine milestone). Kirsten has the perfect balance of firmness and support, and she always knew how to push me just enough without overwhelming me.
She explained things in so many creative ways - whiteboards, analogies, little tricks -whatever it took to help it finally click. And she was endlessly patient, even when she had to repeat the same concepts more times than I’d like to admit without ever making me feel at all silly.
Her emphasis on safety was one of the things I valued most. She taught me how to read the road, anticipate other drivers, and keep myself calm in stressful situations. She didn’t just teach me to pass my test; she taught me to be a genuinely safe, confident driver.
Kirsten is the absolute reason I passed my practical test today. She’s supportive, skilled, and incredibly good at what she does. I’m so grateful I found her. Every nervous driver needs a Kirsten in their life!

Just over 2 months ago I had never set foot in the driver's seat of a car. Yesterday I passed my very first driving test thanks to Ace Driving School's excellent instructor Stephen K. From the very first lesson, Stephen was patient and understanding. I made the slightly expensive choice to complete my 100 hours with instructors, and I can say that every other instructor I tried never came close to matching Stephen's expertise and professionalism. This is why I ended up completing almost all of my hours under Stephen's supervision, traversing every road condition and suburb imaginable across Brisbane. I have absolutely no regrets. Thank you Ace Driving School and thanks so much Stephen! Thanks to you there is one more safe and confident driver on the road :)

Grant has been an amazing driving instructor for my twins who are learning to drive a manual vehicle. Today my son went for his driving exam and got his licence first try. Grant was there to help him with his nerves prior to the exam and by having one last lesson. Grant is patient and very knowledgeable and my son found him to be a great person. My driving instructor, Kirsten was great! From the first lesson felt like I already knew her. She’s great to chat to and she told me so much about driving and all the rules that I never knew before. First lesson, I had already learnt near to about 30 things about driving. Driving with Kirsten was so helpful she really helped me get passed everything I was struggling with about driving. She noticed everything I struggled with and helped me get through it to overcome it.

Very highly recommended. Angela helped me alot with my driving test. I did my first attempt without driving lesson because I was very confident but I failed. So I booked a session and test day package with Angela and helped me alot thought me tricks with my weak points. She is very patient and boost your confidence too. I can’t thank Wayne enough for being such an incredible driving instructor! From day one he had patience, gave me hope, and believed in me even when I doubted myself. He always made sure to point out my faults and keep me in line, but never in a way that felt too harsh – just the perfect balance of firm and supportive. Ace driving school has the highest calibre of instructors. I saw Stephen P and Stephen K, both were 10/10. The Ace administrators were also wonderful. The online booking system is convenient for scheduling around study/work. Service prices are great considering the quality experience and support you recieve. I was without access to a car or instructor for 6 years after getting my L’s - I relied on lessons to get my P’s and saw multiple other driving schools in Brisbane. Ace was the best by a landslide.

I highly recommend Sean from Cleveland as a driving instructor. Even though he teaches part-time, he comes to every lesson well-prepared and is clearly passionate about helping his students succeed. He explains things clearly and patiently, and made sure I understood exactly what to expect both before and during the driving test—including how the scoring works, what examiners look for, and what situations are common on test routes. His practical tips and calm approach gave me the confidence I needed.
Before finding Sean, I had lots of lessons with a different instructor from My Driving School. She constantly said I needed more time and pushed me to take longer lessons, which I did—but despite all that, she never once gave me any useful advice about the test itself. I often finished lessons feeling more confused and incompetent than before.
On the day of the test, I got just one minor error and one Critical Driving Error (CDE) for failing to give way at a busy two-lane roundabout. That happened because the previous instructor had drilled into me that I should enter the roundabout if a car was already blocking the ones on the right—otherwise, I’d never get a chance and risk being honked at and failing the test. That advice directly led to the CDE as I went in just when the car sitting next to me also went in.
In just two lessons and one mock test with Sean, I learned more than I did from all my time with the other instructor. He genuinely cares about his students and knows how to help you improve. If you’re looking for someone who’s supportive, knowledgeable, and actually helps you get test-ready—go with Sean. I only wish I’d found him sooner.
